Designation of Funds
There are several ways to designate a gift to Goodwill. Goodwill offers donors the opportunity to designate funds in several functional areas to fit those issues that they care about the most. At the time a donor makes a planned gift the donor may choose to enter into an agreement with Goodwill which designates how they wish their gift to be used. Or they may make their wishes known in their will.
Unrestricted
A gift that can be used for any legitimate agency need can be made directly to Goodwill. The gift can be structured in any way the donor wishes, including restrictions on how much interest can be used per fiscal year. Donations can also be made directly to the Wayne County Community Foundation, which holds an account in trust for Goodwill.
Restricted
A gift can be made to one of the functional areas listed below. The gift can be structured in any way the donor wishes, including restrictions on how much interest can be used per fiscal year.
1. Job Coaching Coaching consumers on the job until they are successful.
2. Education and Training includes computer, lifeskills and job seeking skills training.
3. Internships funding to continue to provide internships in clerical and retail for consumers.
4. New Programs an open ended fund that allows Goodwill to be flexible in designing and implementing additional programs for consumers for which traditional funding is unavailable.
5. Infrastructure Funding to allow Goodwill to repair, maintain and purchase new property and equipment to upgrade our facilities so that we can continue to provide quality services to consumers.
