Donate Goods
Shop, Donate, Help Put People to Work...
We appreciate your donations! Goodwill is one of the nation's largest recyclers. At Goodwill of Wayne and Holmes Counties, Inc. over 1,000,000 pounds of donations are kept out of landfills each year.
Your usable donations provide a vital source of income for programs and services to help the disabled and disadvantaged. If you have questions concerning donations that are not answered below please call us at (330) 264-1300. Thank you!

Frequently Asked Questions:
- Where can I donate usable items?
Click here for a list of locations.
- How do I tell if an item is usable?
Goodwill is unable to clean or repair donated goods. Therefore, donors are asked to provide items in good, usable, and working condition so that their donations can be sent directly to and sold in Goodwill stores. Ask yourself, 'Would I give this to a family member or a friend?" Or 'Would I purchase this item in its current condition?'
- What happens to unusable donations?
Goodwill tries to make the most of all donations, selling quality items in our stores, selling other items as salvage to developing countries, and recycling metal whenever possible. However, each year we reluctantly dispose of unusable goods and pay the high cost of landfill fees, which takes away from our mission.

- Why can't Goodwill accept certain items?
Goodwill helps change lives through job training and employment services. Your gently used items help make that mission a reality for thousands of people in our own community. The items listed above require transportation or repair that we cannot safely or adequately provide. If we cannot sell the items donated to us, we have to pay a landfill fee, which greatly reduces funds available for our mission. Please help us with your thoughtful donations.
- Why can't you take baby items?
Goodwill appreciates your wanting to share your baby items like high chairs, strollers, car seats and cribs, but due to the Consumer Safety Commission Guildelines, we cannot accept these items as they may have been recalled. Goodwill does not want any child in danger.
- Will you pick up items from my home?
We're sorry, but we do not offer home pickups due to labor, insurance and gas costs.
Our Stores and Corporate Office will all accept your usable donated goods. Goodwill does not send trucks to individual homes for items due to the high transportation cost, insurance and liability.
